Crane Beach is located off Argilla Road in Ispwich, Massachusetts. Crane Beach is four miles of soft white sand that seems to never end. This beach is extremely family friendly offering common amenities such as bathrooms, showers, refreshments, water fountains, and picnic tables during peak season. Additionally, during peak season transportation for handicap visitors is provided and an information area is open for general questions regarding The Crane Estate. The walk to the beach is long although worth the effort. The slope to the water is gradual with large amounts of both soft sand close to the dunes and hard packed sand where the varying sized tide covers. Running around at this clean beach is easy with only sparse amounts of seaweed, rocks, and shells. With the expanse of beach real-estate, there is always a place to etch out a space even on the busiest summer days. *If planning to visit between July 11th and August 7th, plan on bringing bug spray or purchase “Skin So Soft” at the merchandise stand to help stave off greenhead flies.
