Esker Point Beach
Esker Point Beach is a small beach that overlooks busy Esker Bay. This 600 foot man-made beach is popular for its Summer SoundWaves Concert Series (http://www.groton-ct.gov/depts/parksrec/soundwaves/), volleyball courts/tournaments, and personal watercraft launching area. Additionally, this is one of the only beaches that allow pets year round. Rock jetties segment the beach into sections which have convenient amenities. The sand is mostly debris free until nearing the water’s edge where a thick band of seaweed is left over from high-tide. The slope to the water is gradual, and the waves are small due to Long Island Sound.
