Fisherman's Beach
Fisherman’s Beach is located on Humphrey Street in Swampscott, Massachusetts. Fisherman’s Beach has a huge pier that extends out into the Atlantic Ocean; the pier is a popular spot for fishing and sightseeing. Sea-kayaks, small fishing boats, and a launching ramp are found near the entrance to the pier, while sunbathers and swimmers occupy the opposite end of the beach. Sand is mostly hard-packed due to water taking over the beach during high-tide; the slope to the water is gradual, and the sand has scattered bits of seaweed, shells, and rocks. In addition to the beach, a few historical monuments are marked with an old English cannon, a memorial anchor, and Lieutenant General John C Chassion Memorial Boulder. Fisherman’s Beach is an untraditional beach offering swimming lessons, town sailing programs, sun bathing, and fun in the sun.
