Long Sands Beach
Long Sands Beach is located off Route 1A at Long Beach Avenue in York, Maine. At a mile and a half long, where you park may determine the type of landscape encountered during your beach day. An abundance of rocks and boulders are located toward the southern part of the beach and traditional beach sand at the northern portion of the beach. During high-tide, beach space can become crowded although with only street parking, there always seems to be space to relax. Low-tide offers plenty of space to throw a football, toss a Frisbee, or enjoy other beach games. Entry to the water is on the easy side with a mild slope to the water; the waves, however can be on the large side. Check with the life guards to ensure the water is safe for children or the elderly.
