New Castle Beach, located within the Great Island Common, is a small beach located along Route 1B in New Castle, New Hampshire 10 minutes south of Portsmouth. A smaller sandy beach with rock scattered throughout, New Castle Beach has exceptional views of a U.S. Coast Guard Station, 2 light houses, and the scenic Isles of Shoals. With 200 parking spaces, 35 picnic tables, 20 grills, and a playground, this carry in/carry out facility is perfect for family outings. A volleyball court and large grassy fields will keep everyone in the family entertained at this scenic getaway. The beach does have rocks near the entrance and some debris from the ocean but is relatively clean and with easy entry into the water.
