Singing Beach
The most popular of the Manchester beaches is a half-mile wide and gets its name from the sound the sand makes when walking on it. Historically, parking has been a challenge at Singing Beach; see the parking section for information. After securing a parking space, walking onto the beach will cost $5 (or $12 for a season pass). Singing Beach has its sand cleaned regularly, cleared of the little seaweed and debris that may accumulate during high-tide. The oceanfront has equal parts soft and hard packed sand during low-tide, and ample beach space during high-tide and busy summer days. The small waves matched with a slow decent to the water are perfect for kids and those who do not walk well. If planning a beach day at Singing Beach, do plan to arrive early. Parking on weekends is challenging and may require a lengthy walk, which is worth it once at the beach. Singing Beach with its exceptional views and small town appeal is a must see if in the Manchester area.
