Weed Beach is a sandy beach within a 22-acre park along Long Island Sound. The park includes a bathhouse, picnic areas, 6 tennis courts, 5 paddle tennis courts, children’s play areas, a bathhouse, a fit trail with equipment, a fully operational concession stand, and the Paddle Tennis warming hut (available for rent). For rental of paddle tennis courts email http://ereg.darienct.gov or call (203) 656-7350. Beach sand has a mix of crushed shells and pebbles throughout. The slope to the water is gradual, and the waves are lake-like due to Long Island Sound.

6am to 10pm, Memorial Day to Labor Day

Permits are required from April 15th to October 1 and cost $45 for residents, are free for senior residents, $75 for non-resident taxpayers, and $100 for summer residents. The daily beach pass is $45. A beach accessible wheelchair is available by calling (203) 656-7325.

10am to 6pm; swimming is permitted only in the areas designated by floating swim buoys.

Primarily a carry in/carry out beach, there are many restaurants in nearby Stamford. No alcohol after 9 pm and no glass is allowed.

Surfing/Kayaking/Paddle Boarding

Light and ultra-light watercraft and kayaks are allowed. Jet skis and skidoos can only be launched at the southwest side of Weed Beach, facing the Stamford Cove area.
