West Dennis Beach, being close to a mile long, is the most popular Dennis beach. The beach offers convenient and ample parking only steps away from beach sand. Never over-crowded, the beach boasts a snack bar, playground, kite flying area, fishing, and views of the Bass River. The sand has seaweed and shells mixed in with the highest accumulation of seaweed near the mouth of the Bass River. The descent to the water is gradual; the water at West Dennis Beach is considered one of the warmest on the Cape. Flies can be abundant in late August.
