Wingaersheek Beach is located at the end of Atlantic Avenue in Gloucester, Massachusetts. One of the more popular beach destinations during the summer months with the local and surrounding communities, Wingaersheek Beach is often a cause of traffic backups during the summer months. This beach does have limited parking for a beach of its size, and the parking lot does fill up fast during summer months. The beach overlooks the Annisquam River, with boat traffic going back and forth from Lobster Cove. Winaersheek Beach perfect for children and those who have difficulty walking. With limited soft sand, sparse seaweed, and few pebbles, the hard packed surface of the beach is easily navigated. During high-tide beach space is never restricted, with close to a half-mile of ocean front. Low-tide greatly opens up the beach, allowing exploration of the nearby Barn Rocks, warm tidal pools, or a walk along a long sand bar. Wingaersheek Beach is the perfect beach escape for families or anyone who enjoys soft waves, a gradual slope to the water, and beach exploration.
